Cabramatta Public School hosts the Award Ceremony for 20th Auburn International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults!

Auburn International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults will be celebrating its 20th edition during September 18-22, 2017. The festival has been a landmark in creating a platform for children and youth produced short films as well as presenting multi-award winning short and feature films that are about/for children and youth since 1998.

‘We are so proud that the festival reached its 20th anniversary this year!  The festival has presented over 1000 titles for thousands of students in Sydney and NSW regional areas since 1998.’ Says Mr Vahed (Festival Director)

On Friday September 22, 2017, the festival will be hosted by Cabramatta Public School in the Western side of Sydney for special screening and the award ceremony.  The festival will award the best short film made by children and for/about children by a panel of jury selected from year 5 and 6 at Cabramatta Public School.  The jury will also present an award for best animation by children to a group of animation students from Hong Kong (festival’s special guests) who will be at the ceremony along with their teacher Mr. Owen Chan.

‘It is wonderful to see the students from Cabramatta Public School in positions of jury members since they will be judging works by their colleagues and works by adults about or for children from around the world .’ Says Vahed

The festival received over 700 short and feature length films from 48 countries this year and selected over 60 works as World, International and Australian premieres for the Australian student audiences.

‘The festival is a great opportunity for NSW primary and high school students to become familiar with similar issues surrounding children and youth issues from others’ points of view.’ Says Mr. Vahed

Special screening and award ceremony will be held at Cabramatta Public School on Friday September 22, 2017 from 13:00-14:30.
