FESTIVAL REGULATIONS
Auburn International Film Festival for Children and Young Adults was established in 1998 as a community cultural development initiative. Since then, the festival and its philosophy have been acknowledged internationally by children, youth and adults who are interested in moving images as a medium for expressing social, cultural, political, racial and economical concerns about the environments in which they live.

A work can be nominated for different categories but may only compete in one category. All works are selected for the festival must compete for;

Best Short Film by Children 8 – 14 Years Old
Best Short Film by Young Adults 15 – 22 Years Old
Best Short Film by Adults About/ For Children
Best Short Film by Adults About/For Youth
Best Feature Film by Adults About/For Children
(AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD)
Best Feature Film by Adults About/For Youth
(AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD)

ENTRY CONDITIONS & SCREENING FEES
All works must register on-line

Films must be produced after January 2015
All international works must be AUSTRALIAN PREMIERES

All genres and durations are acceptable
All works with dialogue or text must be in English or have English subtitles

The festival does not pay screening fee for selected short and feature films

IMPORTANT NOTE: The festival accepts ‘ONLYYouTube, Vimeo and/or URL link to the film’s full version as PREVIEW FORMAT (Screener).  Countries with no access to fast Internet connections are exempt.  The screener (DVD PAL) for countries exempt must reach the festival by July 10, 2017.

ENTRY FEE
There is no entry fee required

SELECTION NOTIFICATION / PARTICIPATION FORM
The festival will notify the entrants regarding the final selection before August 2017.  Upon the selection of the work a participation form will be sent to the distributor or producer to confirm the film’s presence. If the participation form is not returned to the festival in due time, the festival will reserve the right to withdraw the invitation for selected works.

TRANSPORT CONDITIONS
The screening format of selected film must reach Cinewest by September 1, 2017. The festival will not be responsible for any damages caused whilst the work is transported and will not cover any cost for the shipment of film to the festival.
If the producer or the distributor is using international couriers to send the work should use the street address rather than post box address unless it is a registered parcel. Please note that the festival does not cover any custom charges or related costs upon the arrival of the work.
NO COMMERCIAL VALUE / FOR CULTURAL PURPOSE ONLY should be mentioned on the parcel before sending the work. Maximum Value must be less than $20 Australian Dollars.
