FESTIVAL REGULATIONS

Sydney Olympic Park has been staging many national and international performances and exhibitions that comprised its major public arts and cultural programming since Sydney Olympic Games 2000. Short Soup International Short Film Festival is an initiative by SOPA (Sydney Olympic Park Authority) in partnership with Cinewest to present and promote culturally diverse communities in the Western Sydney region by mixing the two essential ingredients ‘Art’ and ‘Culture’ over one-day celebration.

AUDIENCE DEMOGRAPHICS / RATINGS G AND MA15+

Entrée ~ G
The audience intended for this session is General Public including children and families, therefore, the works must NOT have adult theme, graphic or implied violence, sex scenes or drug use. The works will be judged on their artistic merits by the industry professionals.

Main Course ~ G
The audience intended for this session is General Public including children and families, therefore, the works must NOT have graphic or implied adult theme, violence, sex scenes or drug use. The works will be judged on their artistic merits and audience choice.

Dessert ~ MA15+
The audience intended for this session is Mature 15+, therefore, the works must NOT have graphic violence, sex scenes or drug use. The works will be judged on their artistic merits and industry standards.

ENTRY CONDITIONS & SCREENING FEES
All works must register on-line
Films must have been produced after January 2015

Films must be 15 minutes in length or less

All genres are acceptable

IMPORTANT NOTE: The festival accepts ‘ONLYYouTube, Vimeo and/or URL link to the film’s full version as PREVIEW FORMAT (Screener).  Countries with no access to fast Internet connections are exempt.  The screener (DVD PAL) for countries exempt must reach the festival by July 10, 2017.

ENTRY FEE
There is no entry fee required

SELECTION NOTIFICATION / PARTICIPATION FORM
The festival will notify the entrants regarding the final selection before December 2017.  Upon the selection of the work a participation form will be sent to the distributor or producer to confirm the film’s presence. If the participation form is not returned to the festival in due time, the festival will reserve the right to withdraw the invitation for selected works.

TRANSPORT CONDITIONS
The screening format of selected film must reach Cinewest by January 1, 2018. The festival will not be responsible for any damages caused whilst the work is transported and will not cover any cost for the shipment of film to the festival.
If the producer or the distributor is using international couriers to send the work should use the street address rather than post box address unless it is a registered parcel. Please note that the festival does not cover any custom charges or related costs upon the arrival of the work.
NO COMMERCIAL VALUE / FOR CULTURAL PURPOSE ONLY should be mentioned on the parcel before sending the work. Maximum Value must be less than $20 Australian Dollars.
