FESTIVAL REGULATIONS
Sydney Transgender International Film Festival
is a screen culture initiative to create a platform for the Australian transgender filmmakers showcasing their short and feature length films alongside of finalists from around the world! The festival also presents works that have transsexual content by non-trans filmmakers from Australia and beyond.  The Festival aims to attract mainstream audiences to appreciate and recognize Transgender identity and issues through the medium of moving images. As well as undertaking exchange and curatorial programs to establish a network of individuals, groups and events with similar objectives locally and globally.

ENTRY CONDITIONS & SCREENING FEE
All works must register online

Short films must be 30 minutes in length or less
Feature films must be 50 minutes in length or over
All genres are acceptable
All works must be in english or have English subtitles
All works must be by Transgender filmmakers or have Trans content
There are no restrictions on date of production

IMPORTANT NOTE: The festival accepts ‘ONLYYouTube, Vimeo and/or URL link to the film’s full version as PREVIEW FORMAT (Screener).  Countries with no access to fast Internet connections are exempt.  The screener (DVD PAL) for countries exempt must reach the festival by July 10, 2017.

ENTRY FEE

The Festival requires no Entry Fee

SELECTION NOTIFICATION / PARTICIPATION FORM
The festival will notify the entrants regarding the final selection before July 2017.  Upon the selection of the work a participation form will be sent to the distributor or producer to confirm the film’s presence. If the participation form is not returned to the festival in due time, the festival will reserve the right to withdraw the invitation for selected works.

TRANSPORT CONDITIONS
The screening format of selected film must reach Cinewest by August 30, 2017.  The festival will not be responsible for any damages caused whilst the work is transported and will not cover any cost for the shipment of film to the festival.
If the producer or the distributor is using international couriers to send the work should use the street address rather than post box address unless it is a registered parcel. Please note that the festival does not cover any custom charges or related costs upon the arrival of the work.
NO COMMERCIAL VALUE / FOR CULTURAL PURPOSE ONLY should be mentioned on the parcel before sending the work. Maximum Value must be less than $20 Australian dollars.
