FESTIVAL REGULATIONS
Shire International Short Film Festival
was conceived in 2009 and is a partnership project between Cinewest and Sutherland Shire Council.  The festival selection committee consists of senior citizens or retired film, television and radio patrons who reside in the Shire.  The festival is held during the Senior Citizens’ Week at the Sutherland Entertainment Centre and attracts thousands of audience members from all ages.

ENTRY CONDITIONS & SCREENING FEES
All works must register on-line
Films must be produced after January 2015
Films must be 15 minutes in length or less
All genres are acceptable
All works with dialogue or text must be in English or have English subtitles

IMPORTANT NOTE: The festival accepts ‘ONLYYouTube, Vimeo and/or URL link to the film’s full versionas PREVIEW FORMAT (Screener).  Countries with no access to fast Internet connections are exempt.  The screener (DVD PAL) for countries exempt must reach the festival by October 30, 2017.

All works must pay Entry Fee ($10AUD)

Curatorial (five or more submissions by filmmakers ‘Body of Work’ or distribution companies)
Exchange
(five or more submissions by art, cultural and educational institutions or film festivals)

SELECTION NOTIFICATION / PARTICIPATION FORM
The festival will notify the entrants regarding the final selection before December 2017.  Upon the selection of the work a participation form will be sent to the distributor or producer to confirm the film’s presence. If the participation form is not returned to the festival in due time, the festival will reserve the right to withdraw the invitation for selected works.

TRANSPORT CONDITIONS
The screening format of selected film must reach Cinewest by January 31, 2018. The festival will not be responsible for any damages caused whilst the work is transported and will not cover any cost for the shipment of film to the festival.
If the producer or the distributor is using international couriers to send the work should use the street address rather than post box address unless it is a registered parcel. Please note that the festival does not cover any custom charges or related costs upon the arrival of the work.
NO COMMERCIAL VALUE / FOR CULTURAL PURPOSE ONLY should be mentioned on the parcel before sending the work. Maximum Value must be less than $20 Australian Dollars.
